Skype playdate!

A few days ago I had my first Skype playdate. A friend of mine moved to Florida and I haven't seen her in a long time. I played Barbies with her on skype.

Today is the last day  before Christmas break. Over the break I'm going to go to some museums, to the Mall of America, and to see both of my grandparents. It's going to be very fun!

My Fun Weekend

On Friday I got to have a baby-sitter. We played Legos and watched the Ultimate Silly Song Countdown. On Saturday we got to go to Nickelodeon Universe. Then we got to go to Oma & Opa's! On Sunday after church we went sledding and I slid like a penguin on my tummy. Then we watched hockey and got to eat downstairs! It was a good weekend.

My Oma Made Hats!

My oma wants to help me with my project, so she made hats. They're one size fits all - the same hat fit my sister and my mom. Tell me which one you'd like if you want to help support my project!

Sometimes school is hard

I'm learning division right now. It's hard - even harder than multiplication! I'm also getting extra science. Some in the morning with my mom, some with my class. I read about Hawk Mountain and woodpeckers today.

I get to read a lot too. I really like fantasy fiction. Last time I was at the library, the librarian showed me how to find the ones with stickers on the spine that have a spaceship or unicorn on them. My mom says that was her favorite kind of book when she was younger, and she loves to read my books to make sure I'll like them.

Gifts that Help Others

I'm making things again this year to sell to raise money. Last year I donated to World Vision to help girls around the world go to school. I raised over $150. This year the money is going to special needs children and adults through Lutheran Special Education Ministries and the PACER Center. Here are some of the things I currently have. I can do requests too, but I don't have clay for charms anymore. You may donate as much or as little as you like, but please remember that I need to pay to mail them too. If you live far away, you can mail a check, or use PayPal. Email my mom at cobberreb@yahoo.com for details.

Happy birthday Kjirsten!

Kjirsten's birthday was last week. It was fun to see my grandparents on Sunday. Then I got to see them again for Grandparents' Day on Wednesday. I did bowling with them, and showed them my classroom where I do school when it's not with my mom. Then I saw my mom's aunt and uncle Thursday and Friday and Oma and Opa again on Friday. Tomorrow I get to see them again! Lots of family time!

Baptism Anniversary!

We celebrated my Baptism anniversary on Tuesday. My mom made a cake, and tried to make marshmallow fondant. It was yummy, but she didn't take a picture because she thought it turned out funny. She said the dove looked like a squirrel. I decorated the living room with my favorite flower blanket and we had an indoor picnic for dessert!

My birthday!

I turned seven last Friday. I got to invite friends to Feed My Starving Children. My table packed enough food for 500 meals! I got some of my favorite things for presents: science kits, books, jewelry kits.

Charity Project!

I'm celebrating my birthday this week at Feed My Starving Children. I think it's fun and fun to see all the people that it helps.

I'm doing crafts for raising money again. This year, I'm going to donate what I get to local education projects. Last year I raised almost $150, so I hope I can get that much again! Click "Charity Project" to see examples of what I can make. I'll make special requests too!

Snaptricity and Water Safety

My sister and I did Snaptricity this week. We made parallel circuits. That's when you can take one piece out but the other loops keep working. We also learned what happens to the volts when you add or take away a battery.

We also learned about recycling and how things are recycled, and water safety. You should always wear a life jacket on a boat, and don't dive in water if you don't know how deep it is. Always swim with a buddy to be safe.

My Mom's Birthday!

This week was my mom's birthday. We ate at Noodles. In art we used teddy bears to learn about lines. I also learned about lots of animals in my favorite magazine, National Geographic Kids. I get to do school with Kjirsten too. We do Spanish and religion together. I'm learning how to proofread letters too. I like math this week. We're learning about reading diagrams.

I am going to King of Kings for part time school this year. I am also going to do home school. This is so awesome. Mom and friends all in one day. Amazing!

Donating Hair!

My sister and I each donated 10 inches to Pantene Beautiful Lengths today. The hair will go to women and girls who lose hair due to cancer. I donated two years ago to Wigs for Kids and learned about alopecia. This time we learned about cancer and chemotherapy. Mama knows lots of people who have had cancer, and it's nice to know that I could be helping people like them.

Easter fun!

Happy Easter! I loved my Easter baskets this year. My sister and I got a giant bubble wand, lots of Frozen storybooks, the Frozen movie, a science experiment book, cool new socks, a circuit building toy called Snaptricity, and scooters. And lots of candy. My mom also told me I've raised $150 with my fundraiser so far!

Music and the Arts

I love music and art. I'm learning a lot and they're the most fun subjects except science. On piano I'm learning When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. It's my choir director's favorite hymn and we learned to sing it Monday. On the Irish penny whistle I'm learning Amazing Grace. For art I like to draw pictures and make projects for my World Vision fundraiser. I'm also going to be in a dance recital. I'll do tap and ballet. We call the ballet song the Angel Song.

More For Girls' Education!

I made this necklace for my mom's aunt. My mom's cousin liked the idea so much she wants me to make a bracelet, so that's what I'll be doing next! Remember, if you want to support me, click above to see some things I could make for you.

I got to spend two days at my Oma and Opa's house without my parents or sister. It was a lot of fun. We also saw my great-grandma last weekend. So I've had a lot of days off of school in the past week! I'll be posting more school projects this week.

Weather fun!

This is a science experiment I did this week. I put warm water and cold water in different cups and put the yellow water on top of the clear water. Can you tell which is warm by looking?

Warm water always wants to go up and the cold water wants to stay down so it doesn't mix. So the yellow water is warm and stays on top.

This is like weather. Warm air wants to go up and cold air wants to stay down. When the warm air cools it goes down and the cold air goes up and creates wind. Sometimes warm air gets trapped under cold air. They push each other and start spinning and that makes a tornado.

Great news!

On my spelling test today, I only got three words wrong. I hung on my mom and started laughing because I got lots of brand-new words right.

On February 6th, I lost my tooth eating my green beans. I noticed it clacking against my other teeth. So I spit the green beans out and found my tooth. It was my third tooth.

I got a new order for my World Vision project. I'll put a picture up when I'm done.

Electricity!

We've been learning about electricity this week. First I learned electrical safety with a friend. You can't touch water that has a wire in it that's plugged in. You need to go around puddles with power lines in them. And if you're in a boat in the sea, and there's a storm coming, you have to drive it to shore.

Then we learned about static electricity. Dry weather makes more static. Static can make your hair stand up or a balloon stick to the fridge or wall. But it makes two balloons repel each other because their charge is the same and like charges push each other away.

World Vision Update

I made a sale! One of my mom's co-workers ordered these boxes for her daughters. I think she'll be happy with how they turned out.

Remember, if you order something from me, you'll help girls around the world go to school. Or if you see something you like you can let me know. I don't have prices - you can pay what you want to help sponsor.
